# Teaching I regularly teach tutorials and short courses about the [Brian simulator](https://briansimulator.org), or more generally about simulations of spiking neural networks. Some examples of this are the tutorials I gave at the [EITN fall school](https://eitnschool2022.sciencesconf.org/program), or at courses at [Sorbonne University](https://sciences.sorbonne-universite.fr/en/courses-taught-english/life-sciences/m-bip/modeling-data-analysis) and at [Université de Paris](https://github.com/mgraupe/NeuralDataSciPy2024). I make the material for these courses available in the [`brian-material` GitHub repository](https://github.com/brian-team/brian-material). From 2017 to 2019, I have also been a tutor for the [OIST computational neuroscience summer school](https://groups.oist.jp/ocnc) in Okinawa, Japan. I also teach best practices in software development more generally, as an instructor for the [Software Carpentry](https://software-carpentry.org/) initiative. I've been a certified instructor since 2016. ## Student supervision I have supervised and co-supervised several BSc and MSc student internships, in particular for the [Google Summer of Code](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/) (for some examples see the [software page](/software)). In case your are interested in doing a BSc/MSc internship on neural simulation technology or on neural modeling in general, please [contact me](mailto:marcel.stimberg@inserm.fr).
